李晨钟教授现任香港中文大学(深圳)校长学勤讲座教授,国际旗舰学术期刊 Biosensor and Bioelectronics(IF13)主编,中国科协主办的RESEARCH(IF11)期刊副主编,美国国家发明家院院刊Technology and Innovation Journal 主编。
李教授在日本熊本大学取得硕士学位与博士学位,主要从事合成金属蛋白质的氧化还原特性的研究。2000年博士毕业后,在加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学和萨斯喀彻温大学进行博士后的训练。2003 年加入加拿大国家科学研究院作为联邦政府研究员,2006年开始在美国佛罗里达国际大学的生物医学工程学院担任助理教授、副教授(终身)和正教授,成立纳米生物工程和生物电子中心并担任主任。2017到2020年被选拔到美国国家基金委做项目主任三年,从事美国国家科研计划的战略制定,协助评审和管理中小企业创新和转化种子基金的审核和管理,生物芯片和传感器领域的科研基金和科研项目的管理和审批工作,并联合美国国家基金委内部其他学科、美国国防部、先进技术开发局、美国农业部,DARPA、健康卫生部、美国环境总署、太空总署以及国家标准计量总局等单位共同创立横跨部委的综合性交叉科研项目。2021年担任 美国杜兰大学生物化学系和生物医学工程系双聘教授,科研方向主要是生物光电子和生物传感芯片的研究和开发,偏向于应用型技术的开发,特别是在临床疾病的诊断、IVD、智慧医疗、环保和食品检测等方向的应用。在疾病治疗方面,主要集中在生物物理治疗包括光、电、磁、音乐等对精神性疾病和退行性疾病的诊断和治疗。
曾获得多项奖项和荣誉,包括2009年和2011年的考夫曼创业教授奖、2014日本学术振兴会访问教授奖、2016年美国脑图谱协会技术开发先驱奖、2016年少数族裔服务机构教师癌症研究奖(由美国癌症研究协会(AACR)颁发),以及2019年IEEE杰出讲师奖。
截至2023年,李教授已发表近190篇SCI学术论文,并且是18项国际专利的主要发明人,曾是中、美、加拿大等三个初创企业的创始人和技术总监。长期担任美国国家基金委、美国国家健康研究院、中国科技部、中国国家自然基金委的科研项目评审专家,深圳市科创局指南评审专家、深圳市工务署规划项目评审专家等。
