学习目标：

Myeloid cells, including monocytes/macrophages and neutrophils, are crucial regulators of tumor progression and response to cancer therapy. These cells are generally short-lived and must be continuously replenished to promote tumor progression. We found that circulating hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) from various cancer patients are myeloid biased, and serve as an important source of myeloid descendants in tumors. In various murine tumors, the spleen selectively recruits a population of HSPC and “educates” these cells to generate highly suppressive myeloid descendants. Abrogation of splenic myelopoiesis was not only sufficient but more effective than the tumor-targeted strategy in TME reshaping and tumor regression. This presentation will also discuss the spatial distribution of macrophages in tumors which could reveal the nature of the multifaceted roles of these cells in cancer progression.

关于讲者：

郑利民教授，中山大学二级教授，教育部“基因功能与调控重点实验室”主任。1984年毕业于复旦大学上海医学院，1994年获荷兰Leiden大学博士，1999年被瑞典国家研究院聘为助理教授。2003年回国，先后获国家杰出青年基金和教育部长江学者。曾任中山大学生命科学院院长和肿瘤医院生物治疗中心主任。多年来一直从事人髓系免疫细胞研究，解析人体肿瘤组织中髓系细胞的来源和功能塑造以及与癌细胞之间的相互作用与调控机制。先后主持了国家科技重大专项以及六项国家基金委重点/集成项目。作为第一完成人获“国家自然科学二等奖”和“教育部高校科研成果一等奖”。自2015年起，连续十年入选Elsevier 发布的“中国高被引学者”榜单。
