Biography

Dr. Duo Zhang currently holds the position as Presidential Young Fellow and Assistant Professor (PI) at School of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Dr. Zhang graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering. He earned a fully funded scholarship from China Scholarship Council (CSC) and successively pursued his graduate studies at University of Oxford and University of Cambridge. Dr. Zhang obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Cambridge, and stayed in Cambridge for a further postdoctoral research experience.

With a keen acumen for scientific advancement, Dr. Zhang has dedicated to novel advanced methods to produce optimized, flexible, functional hierarchical structures for tissue engineering and biomedical fabrication applications, with high-impact journal publications in Bioactive Materials, Advanced Materials Technologies, Biofabrication, Chemistry of Materials, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Scientific Reports, MRS bulletin, etc. His research focuses on additive manufacturing soft tissues and organs scaffolds, interactions between cells and in vitro microenvironment, novel functional materials for biofabrication, in vitro drug testing models, wearable flexible sensors and soft robotics.
