Assistant Professor

Professor Cheng Jiang obtained his PhD degree with honor of double-A level thesis in 2016. After that, he joined the University of Oxford to carry on postdoctoral fellow study. In recent years, his research interest is mainly focusing on clinical disease orientated high/low throughput sensory device based fundamental study, in which he pioneered to develop and apply antifouling immunobneads to isolate high-purity exosomes from large-scale clinical serum samples (n>2000) and emphasized on the follow-up biomarker discovery based translation medicine. His has made milestone progress in the early diagnostic of Parkinson’s disease (PD) with special achivements in developing single biomarker for separation of PD vs HC (AUC=0.86) and dual-marker for separation of PD vs MSA (AUC=0.93). Both of them are the highest world records so far.
To date, He has hosted the John Fell Grant and co-hosted the Michael J. Fox Foundation grant, which manages the largest and most famous PD cohort globally. In 2020, he was awarded the Thomas Wills Early Career Researcher Prize based on his research excellence. He is currently an invited reviewer for more than 10 SCI journals including Chem Comm, J Nanobiotechnology. ACS Chem Neurosci, Sens. Actuator B Chem, Biomacromolecules, Oncology Reports, ACS Appl. Bio Mater, etc. He is also served as guest editor for Photonics、Front. Bioeng. Biotechnol, and the member of Youth Editorial Board of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids (EVCNA).
