YIN, Xin
Assistant Professor
PhD (National University of Singapore)
MMed (Shandong University)
BMed (Shandong University)
Prof. YIN received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Preventive Medicine from Shandong University in 2016 and 2019, respectively, and earned her PhD in Epidemiology from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore in 2023. From 2023 to 2025, she served as a Research Fellow at the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. In November 2025, she joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen as an Assistant Professor.
An epidemiologist by training, Prof. YIN’s research focuses on women’s health across the life course, with particular emphasis on how reproductive health relates to long-term disease outcomes. Leveraging large-scale cohort studies, including the Nurses’ Health Study II, Kaiser Permanente Southern California, and the Asia Cohort Consortium, she investigates how early-life reproductive factors (such as pregnancy history and complications) interact with lifestyle, environmental exposures, and genetic susceptibility to shape chronic disease risk. Her research focuses particularly on Asian women and aims to generate actionable, evidence-based strategies to promote women’s health across the lifespan and support healthy aging.
Current research areas include:
- The roles of diet and lifestyle interventions, and their interactions with genetic susceptibility, in reproductive health and cardiometabolic diseases, to reduce chronic disease risk and promote healthy aging.
- Exploring the mechanisms underlying the effects of modifiable factors on women’s health, integrating biomarkers and multi-omics data.
