Biography

Professor Weimin Wang gained his Bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine in 1987 and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1992 both from Peking University Medical College, respectively. After graduation, he worked in the First Hospital of Peking University Medical College. In 2000, he went for further study on organ transplantation at the Institute of Organ Transplantation, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. From 2003 to 2007, he was the Deputy Director of the Education Division of the Medical Department of Peking University. From 2007 to 2015, he was the Director of the Education Division of the Medical Department of Peking University. From June 2019 to present, he has been the Deputy Director of the Medical Department of Peking University. He is responsible for undergraduate education and teaching, international student education and teaching, medical education research, and teacher development work of the School of Medicine.

Professor Wang is currently the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of Clinical Medical Professions of the Ministry of Education, the Vice Chairman of the Teaching Guidance Committee of Clinical Medical Professions in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education from 2018 to 2022, the secretary-general of the Expert Committee of Medical Education of the Ministry of Education, the Chairman of the Professional Committee of Medical Simulation Education of the China Association for Medical Education, and the Executive Director and Deputy secretary-general of the Professional Committee of Medical Education of the Chinese Society of Higher Education. He is also the Executive Director and Deputy secretary-general of the Medical Education Committee of the Chinese Society of Higher Education, and the president-elect of the Medical Education Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.

Meanwhile, Professor Wang is the Chief Editor of the Chinese Journal of Medical Education, the Deputy Head of the Editorial Board of the Chinese Medical Journal and the Chief Editor of the Surgery Specialty, the Deputy Editor of the Research on Teaching and Learning of Higher Education in Medical Sciences (Electronic Version), the Deputy Editor of Medical Education Management, the editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of General Surgery, and the editorial board member of the Medical Education Journal. Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of General Surgery, International Editorial Committee of Medical Education.
