WANG, Lijuan
Adjunct Associate Professor
Ph.D. Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences
Professor Wang Lijuan graduated from Shanghai Medical University in 1985 and received her Ph.D. in neurology from Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in 1996. Since 1999, she has served as the director of Neurology Department of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital and Guangdong Neuroscience Institute. In 2006, she visited the University of British Columbia Neuroscience Department as a visiting professor. Now professor Wang is appointed as the vice Chairman of Neurological Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association and deputy leader of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders group of Neurological Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association and Chinese Medical Association. She is the deputy chairman of Mobile Medical Subcommittee in Chinese Stroke Society and the chairman of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Neurologist Alliance. She also serves as the executive member of the Council and the Chairman of Neurological Committee of Guangdong Medical Doctor Association. Her research interests focus on the clinical, neuropsychological, functional imaging, molecular and vascular mechanisms of Parkinson's disease, cerebrovascular disease, and cognitive impairment (including Alzheimer's disease). As the project leader, She has undertaken and completed more than 20 research projects including National Major R & D Program “Major chronic disease” of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as Guangdong Natural Science Foundation, Guangdong and Guangzhou Key Science and Technology Project. She spearheaded the writing and participated in expert consensus on diagnosis and treatment of vascular parkinsonism, Parkinson's disease, and other movement disorders in China. She has published more than 100 articles in peer reviewed international journals (e.g. "Parkinsonism & Related Disorders", "Stroke", "Neurobiology of Aging") and core domestic journals. She was granted 5 national patents and applied for 3 invention patents. She is the recipient of Science and Technology Progress Awards issued by the State Council, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Guangdong Provincial People's Government.
