Clinical Medicine
The Clinical Medicine programme is dedicated to cultivating world-class medical innovators with solid medical knowledge, clinical skills, and good professional ethics, as well as an international perspective and humanity. Graduates possess a lifelong pursuit of professional competence, comprehensive and solid medical knowledge, advanced clinical skills, research abilities, communication skills, and noble medical ethics and humanities.
Courses under this program will be taught in English, enabling medical students to acquire international frontier and systematic medical knowledge immediately. In the first two years, the undergraduate students will focus on the foundation of medical science, including courses of physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, genetics, bioinformatics, pharmacology. integrates early clinical practice, basic scientific research, and medical AI programe before, they prepare well for the subsequent advanced clinical training and research. In the third year, students will primarily engage in the clinical study and practice at clinical teaching bases where they will acquaint themselves with job rotations in various medical departments with more clinical practices for their future career as doctors. In the entire undergraduate program of clinical medicine, additional modules such as research, leadership, and specialist physician training are added to support for students’ personal careers Upon completion of the six-year programme, students are awarded a CUHK-Shenzhen Bachelor of Medicine degree and a CUHK Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Medicine.
The School of MEDICINE attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ humanistic qualities and their ethical education. In addition to general education courses in the humanities for students in the first two years, medical ethics education is provided during the entire clinical medical learning.
