The CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre is located in the heart of Shenzhen’s Longgang District on the expansive 92,100㎡ of the southern Jihua Road, it is poised to be a beacon of healthcare excellence. This towering facility spans 590,000㎡ and is expected to house 3,000 beds with a total investment surpassing 5.1 billion RMB. Construction work on the CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre officially commenced in December 2019 and is expected to begin trial operations in March 2025. The CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre will officially provide full services by December 31, 2026.  As a rising force in the healthcare sector, we eagerly anticipate sharing this milestone moment with you.  

Designed to be a comprehensive Grade 3A hospital, CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre integrates various services including healthcare, education, research, preventative care, and rehabilitation. The hospital is invested and built by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and co-organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen to jointly create an international, research-based, and intelligent medical service platform.

Medical Centre Vision and Mission

CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre envisions itself as a public institution with a foundation in public service, enriched by Hong Kong characteristics and an international outlook. Through your innovative designs, we hope to vividly capture the Medical Centre's core values: "Exploring Health, Inspiring Education, Caring for People, and Leading with Innovation."  

Design Elements

We encourage you to integrate the following suggested elements (for reference only) into your logo design to highlight the Medical Centre's uniqueness and mission:  

- Medical Elements: To reflect the professionalism of healthcare services;  

- Humanistic Care: To emphasize compassion for patients;  

- Technological Elements: To showcase the concept of smart healthcare;  

- Architectural Features: To represent the Medical Centre’s structural design;  

- CUHK Medical Centre Symbols: Incorporating elements from the CUHK Medical Centre logo;  

- CUHK - Shenzhen or School of MEDICINE Symbols: To enhance affiliation with the University and School of MEDICINE.  

Contest Details

1.  Submission Period  

From now until January 31, 2025  

2.   Eligibility  

All students, faculty, and alumni of CUHK-Shenzhen are welcome to participate.  

3.  Submission Requirements

1)    Design Concept: Explain the inspiration behind the logo, its symbolism, and how it represents the Medical Centre's vision and mission.  

2)    Logo Design: Submit a core graphic or emblem that visually communicates your concept.  

3)    Alignment: Ensure your design aligns with CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre's mission and reflects both artistic and innovative qualities.  

4.      Submission Content  

1)   File Format: High-resolution files in PDF, PNG, or JPG formats.  

2)   Complete Proposal: Include the logo design, color palette, concept explanation, font selection, and a detailed description of each design element.  

3)   Personal Information: Include your name, student/staff ID, email address, phone number, and WeChat ID in your submission email.

1)   Sign and submit the Originality Statement (see attached document) via email to medmc@cuhk.edu.cn. 

2)   Name your email and files as: "Medical Centre Logo Design + Your Name + Contact Information".

Evaluation and Awards

Evaluation Process  

1. Initial Screening: The CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre Planning Office will shortlist submissions based on initial evaluations.  

2. Final Review: A panel of expert judges will determine the final winning entries.  

Evaluation Criteria  

1. Relevance to the Medical Centre’s vision and theme;  

2. Creativity and artistic quality;  

3. Practicality and usability of the logo.  

Awards  

- First Prize: 1 winner, RMB 3,000 and a certificate (tax included)  

- Second Prize: 1 winner, RMB 1,000 and a certificate (tax included)  

- Third Prize: 1 winner, RMB 500 and a certificate (tax included)  

The winning designs may be partially or fully adopted in the Medical Centre's final logo refinement. The First Prize winner will have the opportunity to collaborate in this process and receive an additional RMB 5,000 usage fee (tax included).  

Contest Terms and Conditions

1. The copyright, modification rights, and usage rights of all submitted works will belong to the CUHK-Shenzhen Medical Centre Planning Office.  

2. Participants must sign the Originality Statement to confirm that their submissions are original and have not been commercially published. Any entries previously used in other contests or by third parties are not eligible. 

3. If reference images are used, their sources must be credited. Direct use of online materials, plagiarism, or copyright infringement is strictly prohibited. Participants are expected to adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards.  

4. The organizer will not bear responsibility for any disputes arising from violations of the above conditions. Participants will be held accountable for any damages caused and may forfeit their eligibility, awards, or prizes.
