CUHK-Shenzhen School of MEDICINE Successfully Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools
Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) released the World Directory of Medical Schools. We are proud to announce that School of MEDICINE, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen is now on the list.
The World Directory of Medical Schools is a comprehensive database that lists and provides information on undergraduate medical education programs worldwide. It was first published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1953 and has since evolved through partnerships with organizations like the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and FAIMER. The directory aims to offer accurate and up-to-date details about medical schools, helping students, regulatory authorities, and researchers make informed decisions. It includes over 4,000 institutions, both active and historical, and provides data on accreditation statuses. Access to the directory is free online, though a subscription is required for downloadable access.
There are currently four medical schools in Shenzhen. The School of MEDICINE, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, being the youngest among them, is one of the only two medical schools in Shenzhen that have been included in the World Directory of Medical Schools. This inclusion is not only an affirmation of the educational quality and academic level of CUHK-Shenzhen School of MEDICINE, but also a recognition of its future development potential. It further enhances the international influence of CUHK-Shenzhen School of MEDICINE, providing strong support for graduates in clinical medicine to obtain certification and employment overseas and to participate in international market competition.
